Reply to letter from Dr Sonal Saxena, Professor, Department of Microbiology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi with reference to an article in the June 2013 issue of JACM: Chorioamnionitis due to Arcanobacterium haemolyticum. Sahira H*, Resmi Rajan, Ramani Bai J T, Arya RV. J Acad Clin Microbiol 2013;15(1):34-5

The authors write: The isolate of Arcanobacterium haemolyticum was genuine and the photos that accompanied the article are proof of that. We had shown the smears and isolate to the editorial team before writing the article. It is true that some of the lines from an article on the same subject written by Dr. Sonal Saxena were quoted as such. The said article was cited in the reference. This happened inadvertently and we apologize profusely for any inconvenience caused.

The editorial team will see to it that this does not happen again in the future.

Editor,

JACM
